After days of dust blowing in high winds in and around Lubbock, it will only be considered "breezy" on Thursday. Thursday's high is expected to be in the upper 60's in Lubbock with a cold front pushing its way through the area. With that front the National Weather Service says areas west of the cold front will see breezy conditions with winds around 15-25 mph. Meanwhile those to the east of the cold front will see winds about 10 mph.

And heading into the weekend, the wind will decrease even more, which means we will go a few days without scenes like below that I shot yesterday.

According to the NWS as of Thursday, Friday and Saturday highs for the area will be in the 50s' and 60's. On Saturday there is a chance for rain showers for our area. On Sunday, our area could see severe weather across the Rolling Plains and South Eastern Panhandle. High temperatures are expected to be in the 70's and 80's on Sunday. According to the National Weather Service, storms are expected to mainly be east of I27/US 87.

Next week? The wind returns and possibly some blowing dirt. So enjoy the calm and only "breezy" weather will you can.
