This weekend’s going to be a busy one with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and the Lighted Christmas Parade happening downtown!
Both events will be held Saturday, December 7, at 5 p.m., giving everyone the chance to enjoy the parade, holiday music, and the official lighting of the tree all in one evening. It’s a city tradition perfect way to kick off the holidays with friends, neighbors, and the community.

Gingerbread House Workshop Returns

Victoria’s holiday schedule doesn’t end there. Families looking for a hands-on holiday activity can head to the Victoria Public Library’s FREE Gingerbread House Workshop on Dec. 6, taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Victoria Community Center.
This long-running event, now in its 35th year, offers children the chance to build their own gingerbread houses using free kits available while supplies last. Tables will be set up with icing, candy, and decorations, allowing kids to get creative with their holiday designs.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be at the workshop for photos, perfect for those of us who still need their annual Santa picture. The fun doesn’t stop there; local partners and the Friends of the Victoria Public Library will host craft stations for even more activities throughout the morning.

Show Off Your Holiday Spirit

If you’ve decorated your home or business for the season, now is the perfect time to share it with the community. Light Up the Crossroads 2025 is accepting submissions for the area’s most impressive holiday displays.
