Dealing with the public can be tough.

Are They Dumb?

Sometimes dealing with the public can be a rough road. Things happen and they happen for a lot of reason. Most of the time the customer or client isn't really dumb, they're just distracted or nervous. Sometimes they're actually trolling the employee and that person takes it seriously. Other times, they weren't just ready to be helped and they kind of blurted out a question to fill the awkward space in the interaction.

Then Again...

Yes, and sometimes they're just dumb, or at least lack self-awareness. Then again, I don't want to come down too hard of them, because at least they are making an attempt to get what they want or need. Yes, I'm saying they "Dare  to be stupid" and that's still a noble thing.

Be Nice

We also have to recognize that some of these instances where the result of a sharp-tongue employee too. It doesn't really benefit anyone to make a customer or client intentionally look stupid, but hey, sometimes it just happens. Maybe we can use some of these interactions to be a little more patient and understanding with people.

The Answers

Our answers were from a quick straw poll we took across several Facebook sites. We included most of the available answers, even if some may be a little hard to understand out of context. Even then, I'm sure you'll find more than a few that are funny, or at least very relatable. The complete question we asked was, "What's the dumbest thing a customer or client said to you?"
