GRAPEVINE, Texas - The female jet ski hit-and-run suspect from the horrible tragedy that unfolded on Grapevine Lake last Sunday was identified and taken into custody on a charge of second-degree manslaughter.

The Woman Who Ran

Grapevine Police and the Texas Game Wardens collaborated to hunt down Daikerlyn Alejadra Gonzalez Gonzalez, the prime suspect in a devastating series of events that claimed the life of beautiful and beloved 18-year-old Ava Moore.

What We Know

Gonzalez is accused of driving a jet ski into Moore while she was kayaking on the lake, leaving her critically injured. She then left the scene, taking off in a car with a man whom police have now identified as 21-year-old Maikel Coello Perozo. Perozo was also taken into custody, and it has been reported that the two are both undocumented citizens.

Unknown Passenger

A female passenger riding on the jet ski with Gonzalez at the time of the accident stayed behind with rescue workers and police as they attempted lifesaving measures on Moore, who was unfortunately pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. The police have not yet identified the female passenger.

Ava Was Loved

Ava Moore had a bright future ahead of her and had just completed her first year of U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado before this tragic accident claimed her life all too soon. Dozens of articles across the internet detail how much her friends, family, classmates, and teammates all adored her.

May Ava live forever in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to know her and to all of those touched by this tragedy who never got the opportunity to stand in the presence of a light as bright as hers.
