Leave it to Marfa to give you another quirky reason to visit!

The world's first 3D-printed hotel and campground will be added to the existing hotel "El Cosmico", located on the outskirts of town. The plans include 43 new hotel units and 18 residential homes made from a 3D printer the size of a crane, layer by layer.

What a time to be alive...

The 3D-printing company ICON and architects Bjarke Ingels Group are responsible for constructing the new buildings at El Cosmico. ICON is also working to construct an entirely 3D-printed neighborhood in Austin, so, be on the lookout for some new interesting structures for rent. Fingers crossed they'll be a little bit cheaper than what you typically find around Austin...

Would you live in a 3D-printed home?

It seems like they are much more cost-effective and faster to construct than the typical home. To be able to print your entire living space in a matter of days is pretty wild.

Expansion of El Cosmico should be completed by 2026, and according to NBC News, a stay in one of the new rooms will range from $200 to $450 per night. Not too shabby.

I think I'll have to pop in for a visit. What about you? Drop me a comment and tell me how you feel about it! I'd love to hear from you! You can also email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com, ESPECIALLY if you already live in a 3D-printed home! I'm dying to know more!!!
