Portals To Hell

Some residents and local pastors in San Antonio are up in arms over a Krampus parade scheduled for Thursday December 5th. They are actually calling on the city to cancel the parade because it's "opening a demonic realm". They are afraid that the event will "terrify children and usher in perversion". It sounds like they may be overreacting just a skootch.  I would think if any of those things were going to happen, previous celebrations would have made the news. So far I haven't seen a headline that said, "Local child drug to hell by Krampus".

Krampus Origins

I am never going to get through to the religious nutters, but at least I can educate you on Krampus, although you probably are already familiar with him/it. Krampus is very much a demon looking monster (or sometimes a deformed Santa) and I like to call him "the Anti-Claus". In our culture Santa brings the good boys and girls presents, in some of the Alpine/Germanic areas of the world Krampus spanks and/or eats naughty kids. So, in reality, no one is honoring/worshiping Krampus, they are saying "mind your p's and q's or this boogeyman is going to get you".

Krampus Lives In Lubbock

This reason this is relevant in Lubbock is, we've had a whole Krampus 3D attraction at Nightmare On 19th Street for about five years. In all the time we've had this attraction we've developed some potholes in the parking lot, but no portals to hell. We're proud to have brought the legend of Krampus from overseas to little ol' Lubbock, Texas to the point where you probably knew about all of this before I even explained it.

Xmas With Krampus

We are celebrating, "Nightmare Before Xmas" this Saturday, because our Krampus attraction is going away after our February event, and we wanted to give Krampus a proper send off with a Christmas event. Come on out and see if any portals to hell open up.
