Remembering Grandma’s Cooking From Lubbock’s Sunday Lunches
My grandmother was an amazing cook, and I miss going to her house every Sunday after church for lunch when we moved to Lubbock. It was the best. I've been craving her food lately. Nobody even comes close to it.
Nothing beats grandma's cooking.
If you grew up in Lubbock in the 1980s and 90s, chances are your parents and grandparents made many of the same dishes mine did. You probably still cook them today; if you don't, maybe you've just forgotten about them. It's easy to get wrapped up in fast food and new restaurants popping up all over town. Some of my friends rarely cook at all.
If my grandmother knew how often I ordered DoorDash, she would not be pleased.
Let me inspire you to do a little good old-fashioned cooking this weekend with some old Lubbock favorites you can find in the gallery below.

I would love to hear what your grandmother cooked for you growing up in Lubbock, so we can compare notes! Did you have completely different meals, or were mine similar to yours? Leave me a comment below this article or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
In closing, I just want to remind you to hug your grandparents. If you've still got them, you have no idea how lucky you are! Spend as much time with them as you can. If you don't, you will regret it when they are gone. I can say that with complete certainty. grandparents are simply irreplaceable.
