Local Lubbock Theater Offers Classic Movies At A Vintage Price
Many movies are best experienced on the big screen. In fact, there is one movie I strongly feel should only be viewed in a theater, and luckily, you and I have a chance to see it the way it was intended to be viewed soon.
And while I feel that it is worth it to pay movie "retail" for many classic films, it sure is nice to have the opportunity to see them at a vintage ticket price. Seeing these films in a gorgeous historic Lubbock theater sure is lovely, too.
Lubbock's historic Cactus Theater (1812 Buddy Holly) has several upcoming films that you can see for only $7. These titles include:
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang April 2nd
The Sting April 23
The Outsiders May 21st
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington June 4th
Dr. No June 18th
And the film I strongly, strongly feel should be "expereinced" more than viewed, Stanley Kubrick's visual masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey, which will be screened on May 7th.
All films fall on Wednesdays, and you do have the option of the matinee at 2:20 p.m. or the evening screening at 7:20 p.m. for the same low price.
Also Cactus has very reasonable concession prices, making it a perfect trip to the movies- and back in time for you and your wallet.
Lubbock's Cactus Theater is a cultural and historic gem that anchors our quirky and cool Depot District. The building itself is worth the trip.
In addition to these films, the Cactus has plenty of live music and comedy perfomances lined up for the Spring/ Summer season. You can see everything that's on the horizon (and buy tickets) at the Cactus Theater website.
