We have months to wait, but a lot to get excited about with the 47th Annual Lubbock Arts Festival.

The 47th Lubbock Arts Festival

The Lubbock Arts Festival is always a highlight of the calendar year. This multi-award winning festival will return on April 12th and 13th 2025 with the help of our friends United Supermarkets. As usual, the cost to get in is absolutely minimal at just $5 in advance and $7 at the door, with kids 12 and under free. Entertainment and culture this cheap definitely merits you penciling those dates in on your calendar right now.

The Theme

This years theme is "reNEW!" To explain that a little better it's about making older things new again by repurposing, restoring them, or transforming them. It's certainly something that many artists, particularly folk artists have done for a long long time. I am personally excited about this concept, because I was able to sneak-peak some of the prototypes of pieces that are being put together by Tornado Industrial/Arts. I think you're going to be very surprised by these and other exhibits.

The Extras

The Arts Festival Folks will also have a very cool spotlight performance called, "Great Promise For American Indians", which is described as a "Contemporary Pow-Wow". There is also something called, "Paint Chip Art" which is a little hard to describe, but it's a bit of a mosaic that becomes clearer when you view it through your cell phone camera.
