Big Nuts

Everything is bigger in Texas, even our nuts! In case you're wondering the official tree of Texas is "The Pecan Tree" and the best desert ever is pecan pie. One of those "facts" is more of an opinion, but I'll let you figure out which one. Okay, it's the second one. Pecan pie is absolutely my favorite pie, especially with a big blog of Cool Whip, or scoop of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla on top.

Big In Texas
I'm also a big fan of finding the biggest things in Texas. From the biggest sneaker to the biggest swap meet, we've looked at a bunch of things. We just have more room and more pride in Texas so there is always somebody who comes along trying to come up with something that is bigger and better. Thus begins, "A Tale Of Two Pecans".

The Record!

This brings us to the biggest pecan in Texas. The truth is, it's not really a pecan, but a likeness of a pecan and it can be located in Seguin, Texas. Seguin has held this title twice, once with a 5 feet long, one thousand pound monster that is still located near thier courthouse. Apparently somebody tried to take this title away from Sequin, so they came up with an even bigger one around 2011. That "pecan" sits on a trailer, but looks bigger than most trucks that would haul it.
