According to ABC13, authorities found no signs of foul play or trauma and are waiting on a toxicology report to determine if there was anything in his system to cause his death. The boy's mother also reportedly told authorities he was not exhibiting any signs of illness before the tragedy.

Both of the boy's siblings were present at the time he was discovered unresponsive. His mother performed CPR while awaiting emergency services to arrive. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide investigators took over the scene, which is standard practice when investigating the death of a young child. The Harris County Medical Examiner's office will determine the boy's cause of death with an autopsy and toxicology report.
