Car Burglaries on the Rise in Tyler, Texas
(Tyler, Texas) For the most part I feel very safe here in East Texas.
Sure, we all know there is crime that takes place, just like everywhere else in the world.
But we have some tremendous law enforcement officers who keep our Tyler community safe.
Although, they are seeing a trend with increasing car burglaries taking place and they want to make sure you don’t become the next victim.
Where are These Burglaries Taking Place?
According to a recent post on Facebook there were multiple vehicles that had their window smashed and items removed as the vehicle owners were getting some exercise on Legacy Trail.
Both of the burglary victims parked their vehicles in front of The Crossing neighborhood.
One of the victims commented that ‘they took pretty much everything.’

Car Burglary is a Crime of Opportunity
These car burglaries are a way for these criminals to grab items quickly and try to make a profit.
It’s common for these thieves to look into vehicles for any valuables, specifically any purses or wallets with potential cash.
That is when they strike, often breaking a window, grabbing the items and they are gone in seconds.
Expect These Crimes to Continue
While law enforcement will be doing everything possible to stop these burglaries, this time of year is when these crimes normally increase.
It also doesn’t help that people are struggling, so it’s causing more people to become desperate.
You don’t need to be scared, just be aware of what’s going on.
And make sure you lock your vehicle and hide any valuables from being seen in plain sight.
