Free Blockbuster Comes to San Antonio
For many of us, a visit to Blockbuster on a Friday night to rent movies was a way of life. You would browse the new releases in hopes of it being in stock alongside a couple of other titles.
Add some popcorn, pickle, and soda at the register. It all made for a perfect Friday night. Some of that experience has returned to San Antonio.
This free Blockbuster has no late fees.
The concept is simple: take a movie and leave one, both DVDs and VHS tapes are available. Here is the cool thing: this free Blockbuster has no late charges, but you still want to be kind and rewind.
This is all part of a Retro Complex in San Antonio called My Weekend World Events Center and it is filled with stuff from the 90s and 2000s with an arcade.
@freeblockbuster ✨ We made the news! ✨ KENS 5 came out to feature Free Blockbuster San Antonio, now open inside My Weekend World! It works just like the old days—Take a movie, leave a movie. Today's kids will never experience renting a movie.
The anticipation of watching the movie on the ride home. Something that today's youth will never know, and it makes me sad.
