Davy Jones, lead singer of the 60's TV based rock band The Monkees died this morning of a heart attack at his home in Florida. Davy was 66 years old and appeared to be in good health at his last performance Feb. 19th in Oklahoma. The Monkees were originally cast by TV producers to create a scripted series about an actual rock and roll band. As history tells it, the band exploded on the radio with three number one songs, "The Last Train to Clarksville," "Daydream Believer," and "I'm A Believer." Here's video of Davy performing in New York City just two nights before his death. Davy and The Monkees will forever be a part of the lives of decades of music lovers and TV watchers.
