On this day back in 2005, country star Kenny Chesney married Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger, but it was not to last.
They met in January 2005 at the Concert of Hope tsunami relief benefit. Kenny was one of the performers and Rene was answering phones.

They got married in St. John in the Virgin Islands, but in September of that year, Zellweger filed legal papers seeking an annulment. She cited "fraud" as the reason for the annulment.

There were rumors of Kenny being gay, which he denied, saying "No, I'm not(gay). Chesney went on to say that the only fraud committed was him thinking he knew what it was like being married and he really didn't.

After seeing the movie "Jerry Maguire" which starred Zellweger , it's reported that Chesney was inspired to write the 1999 hit song "You Had Me From Hello".
