This new year will see Whiskey Myers release their third studio album, and first since 2011. "Firewater," their most recent project was a Southern Rock at it's core -- and the task of following it up will be tough.

But, judging solely from the teasers the guys have been feeding us the past couple months, their latest radio single, and that exclusive smashup -- it would appear "Early Morning Shakes" is definitely up to the task of following up what became a definitive Whiskey Myers album.

The Dave Cobb produced album, "Early Morning Shakes," is a twelve track record of dirty country and rock songs -- filled with thoughtful lyrics and hard hitting guitar solos. Exactly what we've come to expect from WM.

This is the first real love song I have ever written," says frontman Cody Cannon. "A lot of the stuff I write is pretty straightforward. There aren’t any hidden codes, it’s just about your woman sheltering you from the rain or hard times.
