This Obituary Will Have You Dying of Laughter

Who needs a run-of-the-mill obituary when you can have one that goes viral?

Odds are you don’t know William Freddie McCullough, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, but you’ll feel like you do after reading his obit, which ran in the Savannah Morning News following his death on September 11.

The tribute to McCullough is sure to leave you in stitches, especially these highlights:

Freddie loved deep fried Southern food smothered in Cane Syrup, fishing at Santee Cooper Lake, Little Debbie Cakes, Two and a Half Men, beautiful women, Reeses [sic] Cups and Jim Beam. Not necessarily in that order. He hated vegetables and hypocrites. Not necessarily in that order.

Freddie loved to tell stories. And you could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50%.

Freddie adored the ladies. And they adored him. There isn’t enough space here to list all of the women from Freddie’s past. There isn’t enough space in the Bloomingdale phone book.

He attracted more women than a shoe sale at Macy’s.

Freddie was killed when he rushed into a burning orphanage to save a group of adorable children. Or maybe not.

He sure sounds like a colorful character and it’s nice to see someone’s death bring out something other than pure vitriol.

You can read the full obit here.
