Letterman, or someone on his staff, has an apparent fondness for alternative-country, and this is good. Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jason Isbell, Dale Watson and Randy Rogers Band have all recently taken their talents to Late Night.

Will Hoge's first album "Spoonful - Tale Begins to Spin" was released in back in '97, but it wasn't until Eli Young Band took a song he wrote, "Even f it Breaks Your Heart," to No.1 in 2012, did Hoge finally get the recognition he'd long deserved. The song was even nominated for a Grammy.

In 2013 Hoge landed two No.1 singles on the Texas charts courtesy of the Wade Bowen duet "Another Song Nobody Will Hear" and "Strong." Today, Hoge posted to his Facebook he'll be heading to The Late Show with David Letterman.
