A vending machine that dispenses artworks is one of the latest promotional ideas for an art gallery in Denver. It's an Art-O-Mat that has been installed, and for a few dollars, the device releases palm-sized artwork. The director of Access Gallery says he was inspired to get one by a machine he saw at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. He purchased his from a gallery going out of business in Kansas City and has been a major draw for his Denver gallery.

According to this site, the Denver machine is stocked with works from professional artists and teens with disabilities. Hey, with $5 and the pull of a lever, instead of cigarettes, you get a little piece of art. I personally think this makes life just that much better!
