Tips to Protect You from Colds and the Flu
Got the sniffles? You're not alone this time of the year. But if you don't want it to get worse or don't want to catch it again, there are some good tips to follow. Medical staff at Covenant Health Systems say the most important thing is to WASH YOUR HANDS or use hand sanitizer until you can get to some good ol' soap and water. We naturally touch our faces which carry the viruses and then we cross contaminate by touching the remote, the door knob, elevator button, etc.
They also urge STAYING HYDRATED AND EATING WELL, like chicken noodle soup with lots of veggies, yogurt, oats and barley for fiber, garlic which naturally fights infection and mushrooms boost your immune system. Here are two more tips. One is EXERCISE, but don't overdo it. A brisk walk or half hour of riding your bicycle. And finally try using SUPPLEMENTS like Omega-3, Vitamin D, Cold FX, Zinc and Airborne(especially good for travelers). Basically, just be good to yourself and have a healthy 2012!
