Tim Siegel's retirement from coaching ended up just being at the collegiate level.

Hours after it was announced that Siegel was leaving Texas Tech, Lubbock-Cooper ISD announced Siegel would become their new tennis coach.

Siegel will be responsible for the tennis teams at Lubbock-Cooper High School, Lubbock-Cooper Middle School and Laura Bush Middle School.

"Tim is a great addition to our tennis program and to the Pirate community," said LCHS Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach Max Kattwinkel. "He brings expertise, teamwork, and leadership to our staff. We are all extremely excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Coach Siegel."

Concerning the move to Cooper, Siegel said, "I'm very excited to be the head coach for Lubbock-Cooper High School and Middle Schools. I'm excited to be part of the Pirate family. I have three children at Laura Bush Middle School and Central Elementary and I'm looking forward to being beside them."

According to Lubbock-Cooper ISD, Siegel's tenure will begin on August 25, the first day of the 2015-16 school year.
