Three more men were arrested across the South Plains due to Child Pornography. That first arrest occurred back on January 10 at the Flying J Travel center in Northeast Lubbock. KAMC news reports that 54-year-old Martin Rodriguez was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of Child Pornography and one count of Child Pornography with Intent to Promote.

According to KAMC news, the second arrest occurred on January 24 when the Lubbock Police Department arrested 26-year-old Mason Moriarty in the 2700 block of 80th Street. Moriarty was arrested on five counts of Possession of Child Pornography, one charge of Possession of Child Pornography with Intent to Promote, and Driving While Intoxicated.

The last arrest occurred after a routine traffic stop in Gaines County led to the arrest of 21-year-old Jesse Giesbrecht. Local authorities were notified via a CyberTip from Twitter of some photos that had been posted on various social media sites. KAMC news reported that Giesbrecht admitted that those site are where he would trade child pornography with hundreds of users including photos of a young family member.

Giesbrecht also admitted online that he had been sexually activity with that family member since she was 5 years old. He is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention on a Federal Warrant Detainer and has no bond due to that detainer. As per the publishing of this article, the other two men are also still currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center. Rodriguez is being held on a $150,000 bond and Moriarty on a bond totaling $110,800.

These three arrests on Child Pornography charges are just a few of many arrests for Child Pornography in 2023 in and around the South Plains. Recently it was discovered that Lubbock has a very high number of sex offenders living in and around the city. Many people ask how can they avoid contact with a sex offender and it's made a little easier with help from them registering themselves in to local authorities when they are required to. That information then goes into a data base and allows parents, and the public, to see any sex offenders that could be living near them.
