Thirsty Thursday With David Frizzell [VIDEO]

On today's "thirsty Thursday" is a singer who live in the shadow of a very famous man. The singer is David Frizzell. The famous man was his brother. Country music icon Lefty Frizzell. But David recorded one of the great drinkin' songs of all time, "I'm Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home".

David moved to Nashville in the early 70's after recording some minor hits in the 60's and spending some time in the Air Force.

He teamed up with his younger brother Allen and Allen's wife Shelly West. West and Frizzell got together and recorded some songs one of which was a number one song "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma".

With the success of his duets with West, Frizzell went out as a solo and hit number in 1982 with "I'm Gonna Hire A Wino".

Frizzell is still touring.
