The Weston Odom Show Gets the Details on Matt Mooney from an Inside Source

1340 The Fan's Weston Odom Show caught up with University of South Dakota basketball broadcaster Jay Elsen to talk about new Texas Tech grad transfer Matt Mooney. Elsen had a lot of great things to say about the newest Red Raider.

The first line out of Elsen summed up Matt Mooney in just four words: "He's the ultimate competitor."

Isn't that exactly what you expect from a guy who was recruited by Chris Beard? The points, the steals, the assists -- all of that just comes naturally to an ultimate competitor. It's what takes the good players to the highest level.

Elsen also praised Mooney off the court, calling him a "rare breed" who complimented Mooney's strong faith and honesty. Mooney is going to be a leader on the Red Raider basketball  team in the locker room and on the court.
