A scientist named Randy Olsen came up with this route that calculates the shortest distance possible to hit a landmark in every state.

So where would you go in Texas?  Well, he said "The Alamo" after a visit to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico.  After San Antonio you head North and hit The Platt Historic District in Oklahoma.
