America’s favorite fondue concept plans to open a Lubbock location and here's how we can make it happen.

Melting Pot is an iconic brand and with six locations throughout the Lone Star State. The restaurant plans to open at least one location in the Lubbock market and ten throughout the state over the next three years.

I spoke with Collin Benyo, Melting Pot Franchise Growth Strategist, to talk about when and how this beloved eatery could be coming to the area.

For almost 50 years, The Melting Pot has defined the fondue experience niche across the American dining scene.

The first Melting Pot opened in April of 1975 in Maitland, Fla., just outside of Orlando. It was a cozy, quaint location, and its first menu consisted of just three items: Swiss cheese fondue, beef fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert. However, as the restaurant's popularity expanded, so did its menu and ambiance.

Now the Melting Pot is the original fondue restaurant where guests can enjoy several fondue cooking styles and a variety of unique entrees, salads, and unforgettable desserts. They also offer a wide range of seasonal and fixed menu items, and you choose the way you want it all.

Customize your menu however you like, with up to four delightful courses. Pair artisan cheeses and breads with the perfect glass of wine. Indulge in the 4-Course Experience by selecting your favorite cheese fondue, salad, entrée, and chocolate and then choose one of our tempting cooking styles and sauces to enhance the flavor in every bite. Or just stop by to satisfy your chocolate cravings after an evening movie.

They hope to be in Lubbock in the next couple of years. They are currently looking for a franchisee to start the process. Once they find a franchisee or "Lubbock Mayor of Fondue" it will take about a year and a half to find a location and get it ready to be open to the public.

If you want to be this person you can head over to this website and sign up. The company says you don't have to have a background in restaurants to apply or be chosen.
