UPDATE: The National Weather Service has released an updated video forecast for West Texas.

Freezing rain may develop across the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico following Thanksgiving, along with a potential for renewed flooding in Central Texas.

The National Weather Service predicts heavy rains could freeze roads, trees and power lines across the South Plains and urges all holiday travelers to keep abreast on the latest weather developments and factor them in when finalizing travel plans.

The Weather Channel is warning that severe thunderstorms may appear over Oklahoma City all the way south into the Dallas-Fort Worth metro and could bring back flash flooding chances.

Scattered thunderstorms may get in the way of travel in Central and East Texas on Friday and Saturday, with localized rain and flooding chances.

As always, keep updated on the latest severe weather updates when planning a road trip.
