Thanksgiving And The T.V. Sitcom “WKRP In Cincinnati”

Thanksgiving is this week. I love this holiday because not only because it's an excuse to eat a lot and family is around, but I can't help remembering a classic episode about turkeys on a classic T.V. show.

If you have been in radio any length of time you have been involved in some strange promotions.You may have dressed up in a chicken outfit or had to sit in a dunking booth.

All radio people have given away turkeys on the air. A lot of times listeners listen for the turkey gobble and call in a win a turkey.

All radio folks can relate to the classic T.V. show "WKRP". We all know someone that was like a character featured on the show.

Every Thanksgiving I think about the episode about a promotion involving turkeys and the classic line given by actor Gordon Jump who played the general manager everyone call "big guy".
