Texas Woman Gives Birth to Her Own Granddaughter

The 54-year-old was the surrogate mother for her daughter's baby.Fox News 4 has reported that Tracey Thompson has given birth to a baby girl.

Her daughter, 28-year-old Kelley McKissack and her husband Aaron have struggled with infertility for the past three years. They tried infertility treatments but ended up with three devastating miscarriages.

That's when mom stepped in and offered to be the surrogate mother using one of the couple's remaining embryos from their final round of In Vitro Fertilization.

Even though Thompson had already experienced menopause, the doctors were able to used special medial treatments to prepare her body for carrying a child.

Now they have a brand new baby girl named Kelcey, which combines their names Tracey and Kelley.  She's 6 pounds 11 ounces.

Tracey told Fox News 4 "It's such a blessing that I can do this for my daughter."

Kelley described the newborn as "the best gift... for a lifetime."
