It was a close game in El Paso Saturday night, but the Red Raiders beat back the University of Texas at El Paso Miners to win their second of the season.

The Red Raiders offense was lead by quarterback Davis Webb and wide receiver Bradley Marquez, who connected for three touchdowns during the back-and-forth game.

The Miners fought hard, matching the Red Raiders two out of four quarters and kicking the game off with a 6-0 lead. However, Texas Tech's dominant second quarter helped secure the win.

"They were disappointed in the way they played, but they were happy that they found a way to win," said head coach Kliff Kingsbury. "You gotta take that, build off it. We haven't come close to playing our best game and we gotta get a lot better very quickly for next week."

The Red Raiders are back in Lubbock Saturday, September 13 to play the Arkansas Razorbacks.
