Texas Tech Takes Late 2nd Quarter Lead Against the Oklahoma Sooners After Giles TD Catch [VIDEO]

After being down 13 points to the Oklahoma Sooners in the first quarter, the Texas Tech Red Raiders fought back to briefly take the lead in the second quarter.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes fired a bullet to Jonathan Giles for a 23-yard touchdown pass with 37 seconds left in the half. Giles made a shoestring catch as he tumbled out of the end zone.

Texas Tech's 24-23 lead was short-lived however, as Baker Mayfield threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Nick Basquine just 20 seconds later. The Sooners had a halftime lead of 30-24.
