According to Everything Lubbock, a search warrant has revealed new information about the shooting that occurred on Texas Tech's Campus Police Headquarters earlier this month.

Hollis Alvin Daniels (19) had confessed to shooting and killing Texas Tech police officer Floyd East, Jr. on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017.

Initial reports were made that drugs were being sold and used in his dorm, Room C of Talkington Hall.

The warrant says: "The officers eventually spoke to Hollis and located a quantity suspected Xanax and another quantity of unknown tablets. Statements obtained from roommates of Hollis, advised that he was constantly smoking marijuana and using Xanax and had observed times that they believe Hollis was selling marijuana to other individuals."

The warrant also states that the suspect, Hollis Alvin Daniels, was placed in handcuffs and searched at the time of his arrest. It's still unclear if he was in possession of the weapon at that time. Daniels was taken into custody from Talkington Hall by Officer East and other members of the Texas Tech University Police Department.

When officers brought Daniels into the station, arresting officers un-handcuffed him, presumably to sign paperwork. Officer East was left alone in the room with Daniels. It was during this time he was shot in the head and killed. Daniels fled the scene.

"Officer Snelson heard what he believed to be a gunshot and immediately went to the briefing room," reads the warrant.

Daniels made his way back to Talkington Hall after being let in by another student. Before he made it back to his room, he saw police presence in the residence hall and left. Daniels was found and arrested again along the east side of the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

"After conducting a search of the area, a Springfield XD .45 caliber pistol was located in a drainage area of the Marsha Sharp Freeway," the warrant said. "The firearm was hidden in a box with other refuse." The stolen gun was reported a day earlier, but at this time there is still speculation on whether or not said gun was used to kill Officer East or not.

Investigators want to search his phone. There is evidence Daniels may have called his mother after the shooting, and they believe there might also be other evidence on the cell phone.
