In the aftermath of the scandal caused by Texas Tech University’s Phi Delta Theta, the university announced the creation of a task force designed to address issues within the university’s Greek system.

Photos surfaced online showing a slogan condoning rape displayed gregariously at a party hosted by the fraternity and caused a slew of repercussions including suspension of the fraternity and led women across campus to protest by placing contradictory signs across Tech’s campus.

Texas Tech University President Duane Nellis stated the university needs to go beyond its current policies to protect the well-being of its students.

Our goal of this task force is to strengthen the culture and standards of conduct in the Greek community at Texas Tech University.”

The task force is headed by Senior Vice President and Vice Provost Juan Munoz and includes the following members:
• Amy Murphy, Dean of Students
• BaLeigh Waldrop, Student Government Association Vice President
• Judi Henry, Senior Women’s Administrator, Athletics
• Michael Farmer, Faculty Senate, President
• Holton Westbrook, Texas Tech Student, Pi Kappa Alpha Member
• Bailey Iverson, Texas Tech Student, Delta Gamma Member
• Raegan Higgins, Faculty, Delta Theta Sigma advisor
• Mark Warren, Community Member
• Zach Brady, Community Member, Kappa Alpha Order advisor
• Vicki Nixon, Community Member, Delta Gamma advisor
