After this weekend everyone is talking tennis at Texas Tech. Not only did the Tech women's win the Big 12 title with their win over Iowa State, but the Tech men's tennis team did what they had to do. That was to beat the University of Texas and that is what they did.

With the team score tied at 3-3, Tech Gonzalo Escobar was tied with Longhorn Daniel Whitehead at 2 sets apiece. But Escobar won the third set of their match helping Tech to at 4-3 win over the Longhorns.

This is huge for the tennis program. There were of one thousand fans in attendance Saturday night at the McLeod Tennis Center. That's cool in itself. Tech secures 2nd place in the conference and will get a first round by in the Big 12 Champioships in College Station.

If things fall into place both men's and women's tennis at Tech could be hosting an NCAA regional.

So right now Texas Tech men's and women's tennis are on top of the world and the way these programs are set up, there is nothing but good things ahead.

If you weren't there, here's a look at the final match.
