For the second week in a row the Lady Raiders could not come up with the winning basket and suffer their second loss in the final minutes of the game.

Kansas State held on to win 62-61. The wildcats Jalana Childs hit two free throws with 1:43 and that turned out to be all that was needed for the Wildcat victory.

Last week Tech led most of the way against Oklahoma only lose in the final five minutes of the game when they did not score at all, and that allowed the Sooners to come back and steal a win.

This time the Lady Raiders went 9 of 17 from the free throw line. But again Tech was up 61-57 with just over 3 minutes left but didn't score after that.

Tech had their chance. With 18 seconds left Kierra Mallard had the ball under the basket but failed to make the shot, grabbed her own rebound, and missed the second shot.

Tech on a possession call, Tech got the ball out and with 6 seconds left Monique Smalls got the ball, drove the lane but didn't make the basket. The Lady Raiders had the good looks, but couldn't convert.

One good thing was that Tech was down by ten at the half, 37-27, but went on a 16-6 run to tie the game in the second half.

It seems when these two teams play, it's a war. Last year Tech won in double overtime, at the year before, Tech won at K-State on overtime.

Come this Wednesday the Lady Raiders are going to have to make their free throws, knock down shots when they are open, and play a full 40 minutes.

Why? They will host #1 Baylor. A win will put Tech at 3-2 in the Big 12. No t.v. For this one so get a ticket and be there. Tipoff at 7pm.
