Texas Tech football fans are being encouraged to add a little pink to their wardrobe for the game against Iowa State Saturday night at Jones AT&T stadium. The "pink" are pink ribbons that Susan G. Komen for the Cure along with Covenant Health System want fans to pin on, in honor of breast cancer awareness month. A Pink Tailgate will be held beginning at 4 p.m. two hours before kickoff. Pink pompoms, koozies and noisemakers will be handed out there along with shower breast self-exam cards. This is the third year these organizations have raised awareness about breast cancer at a Texas Tech football game. And their efforts more than likely won't stop until there is a cure. Statistics now show one in eight women or nearly 13 percent of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime.
