Davis Martin and the Red Raider baseball team won its 10th straight game for the best start in program history.

Their 10th win comes against 11th ranked South Alabama in the first game of a four game series this weekend. The final was 8-1 as the Red Raiders scored multiple runs in the 3rd, 4th and 7th innings for the win.

Martin got the win for the Red Raiders, pitching five innings, striking out four and giving up only one run on three walks and two hits. The bullpen consisted of Connor Queen and Dave Haveman, who both pitched two innings of shutout baseball each.

Offensively, The Red Raiders were led by freshmen Gabe Holt and Kurt Wilson at the top of the order, who knocked in 3 of the 8 runs. Catcher Clay Koelzer went 2 for 3 with two HBP, an RBI and two runs.

The Red Raiders are back on the field tomorrow for a double header before the final game on Sunday afternoon.
