The No. 19 Red Raiders (22-14) hit the road for the third consecutive midweek contest as they travel to Abilene to take on the Abilene Christian Wildcats (8-24) 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (April 14) at Crutcher Scott Field.

The team climbed four spots in the latest Baseball America poll from No. 23 to No. 19 on the strength of a Big 12 Conference home sweep of Baylor over the weekend.

The Red Raiders are riding their first three-game win streak since the end of February and into March after sweeping Baylor for the first time since 2004. The team is 5-5 in midweek games this season and has lost three in a row dating back to March 24.

Tuesday’s scheduled game would be the 47th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Abilene Christian. It will be the first meeting between the two in Abilene since 1976. Tech leads the all-time series 30-16 and has won eight straight and 16 of the last 17.

Tech defeated ACU 6-5 in 16 innings March 3 in Lubbock -- the longest (innings) home game in Texas Tech history.

ACU has lost four straight games, including a narrow 5-4 loss last week hosting TCU and suffering a three-game sweep at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Tech returns to Big 12 play this week end when they continue their road trip as they travel to Manhattan, Kansas for a three-game series with Kansas State Friday-Sunday
