The Texas Senate has approved a limited medical marijuana bill, authorizing the sale to eligible patients of Cannabidiol oil.

Medical marijuana has been a hot topic for years and the legalization of marijuana for recreational use seems to be not too far behind.  The state Senate easily voted to support CBD oil use by a vote of 26-5 according to a report from KSAT.

The report goes on to say that the oil is used to help control seizures associated with intractable epilepsy, which apparently affects 150,000 Texans. It also doesn't produce the "high" associated with smoking or ingesting marijuana.

Texas has never legalized any form of marijuana, even for medical reasons.  The bill now heads to the House Of Representatives. If this bill passes it would no doubt get the attention of the entire nation that perhaps marijuana use has become more viable, whether it be for medical or recreational use.
