After the departures of several coaches from the 2015 Texas Ranger coaching staff and some further rearranging, here is what the 2016 coaching staff will look like.

Jeff Banister will return as manager along with bench coach Steve Buchele. Hector Ortiz and Tony Beasley will also reprise they're roles as 1st base coach and 3rd base coach (respectively). The bullpen catcher will again be Josh Fraiser.

The pitching coach vacancy left by Mike Maddox will be filled by Doug Brocail.

Brocail was the Houston Astros' pitching coach from 2011-2013, he also served as a special assistant and pitching adviser in 2014 and was the Astros' AA affiliate Corpus Christi's pitching coach this past season. He has been part of the Astros' front office and player development system since 2010. Brocail pitched for the Rangers, Padres, Astros and Tigers in his MLB career.

The bullpen coaching job will be filled by Brad Holman, who served as pitching coach in the Rangers organization since 2009. Last season he worked with the Rangers' AAA team in Round Rock. Promoting from within provides consistency for all of the talent the Rangers have cultivated and are looking to bring up to the major league level in 2016 and beyond. Holman coached in the Pittsburgh Pirate Organization with Manager Banister in 2008.

The hitting coach is the next vacancy to be filled by Anthony Iapoce, who spent the last three years managing the Chicago Cubs' minor league hitting program as a special assistant to the general manager/player development. Iapoce played at Lamar University and started his coaching career in the Florida Marlins system from 2006-2009. He was Toronto's roving hitting coordinator from 2010-2012.

The second promotion from AAA Round Rock will be Justin Mashore.

Mashore was largely credited for turning around Rougned Odor's season after he was sent to AAA after a terrible start in 2015. Mashore’s coaching career began in the Toronto Blue Jays organization before spending four years in the Rangers organization, the past two in AAA Round Rock.

Bobby Jones, who had been the Rangers' assistant hitting coach, will be the team's replay coordinator. Jones is the longest-tenured active member of the Rangers' baseball operations department at 28 years.
