In what's sure to be a tremendous show, Cody Johnson will take the stage at the Lonestar Amphitheater here in Lubbock on Friday, April 7th.

Johnson has taken his tour by storm and performed sold-out shows on the west coast according to his website. He was recently a headliner for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he wowed an impressive 60,000 people with original music like "Me and My Kind" and his new single, "With You I Am."

It's a willingness to work very hard, that has set him apart according to his website. His music tells the rest of his story; he truly is what his music is about. The message is authentic and true to his life and his spirit.

Johnson's broken his fair share of bones as a bull rider, and is willing to admit how tough it is. He was inspired by that challenge much as he now is by his music career.

He grew up in Sebastapol, about 30 miles from Huntsville, Texas. His music is inspired by Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and George Strait.

He took after his dad at a young age and his first instrument was the drums. Soon he picked up guitar and began creating original music.

Johnson's first band was a runner-up in a Texas State FFA talent contest.

Now, he has several albums under his big, hard-won rodeo belt buckle, and has claimed the title of New Male Vocalist of the Year in the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.

Johnson has 126,000 following him on Twitter. With no big promoter backing him, this is a real accomplishment.

His much-anticipated Lubbock show is sure to be a solid, powerhouse night of true, authentic, rebel-fueled Texas Country music. Tickets for his show, 'Cody Johnson and Friends' are available at Roadhouse Tickets and start at $20.

His special guests include: Kevin Fowler, Mo Pitney and Randall King.
