Texas Could Have the World’s Largest Cross by the End of the Year
The cross in Corpus Christi would also be the latest in the Western Hemisphere.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the Corpus Christi Cross Project has been working for three years to make the cross a reality.
They finally broke ground on Sunday with various dignitaries on hand and support from Governor Greg Abbot.
The plans are for the cross to be 210 feet tall. Put that into perspective, that's around a 19 story building that will be able to be seen from 5 miles away.
According to Pastor Ricky Milby of Abundant Life Fellowship, the idea came from the huge cross near Houston's Sagemont Church. That cross is 170 feet tall.
The project is being paid for by supporters who would like to contribute funds .
