Texas Tech finally got back to play in front of the home crowd in the United Spirit Arena last night and did not disappoint. The Red Raiders battled past Cal State Bakersfield 74-58.

Tech led by five, 55-50, when Donald Johnson of the Roadrunners was called for a technical. Tech's Ty Nurse went to the line, and made both free throws and from there, Tech went on a 19-8 run to finish out the game.

Once again Bean Willis was bombing from three point land, hitting four treys. Terran Pettaway hit a couple of three's late in the game that sealed the deal for Tech.

But Red Raider fans were treated to some great play from freshman Jordan Tolbert. This kid is special and will become even more special as he get older and learns more about the game.

In his last four games, Tolbert as scored at least 20 points. Last night he hit for 27, in the paint.

The Red Raider are 5-0 at home this year and will host SE Louisiana this Friday night at 8pm. There was a great crowd there last night. The official attendance was just over 10,000.

Friday will be a Double T day where kids 12 and under will get in from with a full priced adult ticket.

So be loud and proud and be in the United Spirit Arena Friday night.
