This week history was made here in Texas, as Sunny Sweeney took "My Bed" to the top of the Texas charts. You may recall "Bad Girl Phase," too, went to the top towards the end of 2014. This marks the first time a female singer has had two consecutive No. 1's in Texas. Congrats, Sunny! If you haven't gotten your hands on her album "Provoked" yet, do.

Back in November, Jennifer Nettles stopped in to Marathon Music Works in Nashville for a Spotify-sponsored album preview event. It was there she was joined by singer-songwriter Will Hoge, who took the stage with the Sugarland star to sing his own hit single 'Strong.'

He’s been writing and performing songs for fifteen years, and even though Will Hoge is a name you might not yet know — you are definitely familiar with his work. Hoge penned Eli Young Band’s No.1 smash “Even if it Breaks Your Heart,” a song that earned him a Grammy nomination. He's also the guy singin' on the Chevy truck commercials.

Letterman, or someone on his staff, has an apparent fondness for alternative-country, and this is good. Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jason Isbell, Dale Watson and Randy Rogers Band have all recently taken their talents to Late Night.
