WCG dropped by to hand deliver his new CD "Misunderstood," and while he was here I talked him into doing "Tonight" off the new CD live.

William Clark Green debuted in 2008 with "Dangerous Man." The CD boasted some Incredible songs with "Gypsy", "New Orleans," and "Nothing to Lose." A FLint, Texas native, going to Texas Tech, William Clark Green has "plowed the field" so to speak and taken the music scene in Lubbock by storm. His second release "Misunderstood" and first single "Tonight" puts WCG into a whole 'nuther league.

John David Kent and the Dumb Angels are an amazing band with moving parts of rich 3-part harmonies, and sonically lie somewhere a little West of Waylon Jennings or Creedence Clearwater Revival with a fresh twist. Three members sing, John himself plays drums, guitar, and piano and changes instruments throughout their show.

Rolling into the weekend on 99.5 The Bear, it's not unusual to hear one of my favorite songs, and often called the national anthem of Texas, "Beer, Bait and Ammo" by Kevin Fowler. Not only does it set the tone for the upcoming no frills, lots of beer, and, well, you get the point kind of weekend, it tells the simple story of being able to get all the necessities in life in one place. Oh, and you can get said song on the just released Kevin Fowler CD "Best of...So Far."

Just thought I would let you know.  The Maines Brothers, in my opinion are at the very core of what we industry folks call "Texas Country," or "Red Dirt."  Whatever you call it, their music remains a force to be reckoned with even today.  I am proud to say that 99.5 The Bear proudly plays the Maines Brothers Band in a regular rotation of songs.  One of the most requested songs
