The drought continues is strangle hold on Lubbock and the South Plains. Some experts believe it will last into 2012 and that's not good news.

It's pretty frightening to calculate what happens to 100+ temps in a closed car, considering the increase in 15 minutes time averages 40 degrees. Most parents would not leave their child unattended, (though this has happened leading to tragic developments), but many think cracking a window and leaving a pet is fine.

With thirty-plus days of temps over a hundred degrees, people are starting to get creative on how to cool off. We see kids plastic pools filled with ice for the pets outside,or maybe the kids. There's less clothes of course, with shorts being endorsed for professional office attire! And now, there's something called a "cooling vest" that I just found out existed.
