Ever since the horrific stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair last month, Sugarland has faced a mountain of heartache. And now, even though no formal lawsuit has been submitted, the legal issues come into play. According to Guardiannews.com Sugarland has been named in a legal notice. Sugarland is one of 15 defendants that have been charged with "gross negligence and/or recklessness". The filing is by the parents and sister of 22 year old Jennifer Haskell. Jennifer died in the tragic event, being crushed to death by 40,000 pounds of collapsed equipment.

The filing proposed damages for Jennifer Haskell's injuries and her"wrongful death". I think the incident will remain forever a heartache for Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. The Sunday following the tragedy, Jennifer wrote on the band's website, "I am so moved. Moved by the grief of those families who lost loved ones. Moved by the pain of those who were injured and the fear of their families..."An ongoing investigation could continue into spring of 2012. Sugarland, of course, continues with lives and their music. Here's a great song by that group that's endured this dreadful experience.
