According to a new study, a team of Yale psychologists have conducted many experiments that may prove using search engines such as Yahoo or Google may give people a "widely inaccurate" view of their own intelligence.

I remember a discussion I had with my father about 10 years ago in which he proclaimed that in the next 20 years or so, "book knowledge" would be less valuable than having the ability to access electronic stored media.

At that time, he predicted that mankind would eventually have the ability to have a chip planted into them that would provide them access to all the book knowledge in the world. The trick would be learning how to access it.

Modern day search engines are proof positive that he was fairly on point. The Yale psychologists say that it is becoming easier for individuals to confuse their internal knowledge from what is available on this "external source."

Reminds me of a funny T-shirt I saw recently that said something to the effect of "I Don't Need Google, My Wife (or Fiancé) Knows Everything". Maybe he/she just thinks they do!
