One of the best voices in country music comes from singer-songwriter Don Williams, a Floydada native. Williams has climbed to legendary status in country music, and in November he'll receive the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award. It's the songwriting organization's upcoming annual awards' ceremony to be held in Nashville's Gaylord Opryland Hotel. That particular award has been handed in the past to legends like Stevie Wonder and Garth Brooks. Songs penned by the Country Music Hall of Famer have been recorded by many of the greats in country in the last four decades. And his singing career has been stellar, boasting 17 number one hits. The awards ceremony, by invitation only, is scheduled for November 6. Here's one of his best.
