A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the South Plains, until 10 p.m. The area with the best potential for severe thunderstorms is east of I-27.

Around 4:15 p.m., there were thunderstorm cells in SE Lubbock County, western Swisher County and northern King County.

Meteorologist Ron Roberts will have severe weather updates throughout the afternoon on News/Talk 790, KFYO, SportsRadio 1340 The Fan, Lonestar 99.5, 94.5 FMX, Awesome 98 and 102.5 KISS FM.
